The Department of Hindi was established in the academic session 1998-99. At present, the Department is an integral part of Gurucharan University and continues to contribute to teaching and research activity. At the initial stage, the Department had only MIL (Modern Indian Language) course and was run by a single ad-hoc lecturer. Later, Elective Hindi course was started in the session 2001-2002. Since then, Hindi as both MIL & Elective courses are being taught.
